Sangrur, March 17 — At least 65 people who attended a free hair treatment camp in Sangrur have sought medical attention for eye irritation and burning sensations, Civil Surgeon Dr. Sanjay Kamra said on Monday.
The camp, held at Kali Devi Mandir on Sunday, offered a supposed cure for hair loss but left many participants with pain and redness after using an oil provided at the event.
Dr. Kamra confirmed that the organizers did not seek permission from the local administration despite nearly 1,000 people attending. “A team has been set up to investigate the matter and identify those responsible for the unauthorized event,” he said.
Dr. Vaibhav Mittal, a private eye specialist in Sangrur, said he had examined 40 affected patients since Monday morning.
Police also denied granting permission for the camp. “So far, no patient has filed a complaint against the organizer. However, we have learned that an individual from Khanna claimed to offer a hair regrowth treatment and held the event. Efforts are on to trace him,” said DSP Special Branch Sanjeev Singla.
