Chandigarh, 29 November 2024 – Ludhiana’s Halwara Airport, a long-awaited project, is nearing its operational phase, bringing a significant development for Punjab’s connectivity. Fatehgarh Sahib MP Dr. Amar Singh recently met Union Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu, submitting a formal demand to expedite the airport’s launch.
The Union Minister assured Dr. Singh that the airport would begin operations within the next three months. Dr. Singh highlighted his instrumental role in securing approvals for the project in 2018 from the Punjab and Delhi governments. Despite construction being completed, air traffic at the facility is yet to commence.
Dr. Singh’s meeting with the minister marks his fourth effort to address the delay. He emphasized that Halwara Airport’s opening would benefit not only Ludhiana and Fatehgarh Sahib but also the broader Punjab region, offering enhanced transportation facilities.
