Haryana CM Promises 2 Lakh Government Jobs in Five Years

Kurukshetra, 24 January 2025: Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini announced plans to provide 2 lakh government jobs to youth on a merit basis over the next five years, highlighting efforts to strengthen employment opportunities in the state.

Speaking at IGN College, Dhanura Ladwa (Kurukshetra), during its Golden Jubilee celebration on Friday, Saini said 1.71 lakh jobs had been awarded in the last decade without any fee or external influence.

The Chief Minister also detailed initiatives encouraging youth entrepreneurship alongside government jobs.

“Educational institutions like IGN College, which has contributed to making thousands of skilled citizens, are key to achieving a developed Haryana,” he added.

Saini praised the adoption of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s National Education Policy 2020 by Kurukshetra University, stating that it would integrate education from kindergarten to post-graduation and focus on skill development.

“Haryana is investing heavily in education, with 79 government colleges opened, including 32 for girls, and 13 new universities established statewide,” he noted.

During the event, the Chief Minister planted a sapling, released the college’s Golden Jubilee Souvenir, and announced a ₹21 lakh grant to the institution.

He also expressed gratitude to the Dhanura Panchayat for donating 36 acres of land for the college’s construction in 1974.

Acknowledging global opportunities, Saini said a foreign cooperation department was set up to facilitate overseas employment and education for the state’s youth, with 35,000 students receiving free passports through their colleges.

Lieutenant General S.K. Saini commended IGN College’s 50-year legacy as the sole college in the Ladwa constituency, now offering programs in arts, commerce, science, and postgraduate studies.

The state government, he stated, is committed to fostering more such institutions to contribute to Haryana’s progress.
