Hisar, November 7: A sub-inspector of Haryana Police was beaten to death outside his residence in Shamlal Dhani, Hisar, around midnight yesterday, police said. The victim, identified as Ramesh Kumar (57), was posted with the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) office in Hisar.
According to authorities, Kumar had earlier attempted to stop a group of youths from creating a disturbance in his neighborhood. When the group returned later, they began hurling abuses outside his house. “As he came out to intervene, the assailants attacked him with bricks and sticks, leading to his death on the spot,” a senior police official said.
The attackers fled the scene, leaving behind a car and two two-wheelers. Police have registered a murder case and seized the abandoned vehicles. Special teams have been formed to track the suspects, and the investigation is ongoing.
