Chandigarh, 16 November 2024: The Haryana government has unveiled a new initiative under the Haryana Uday Abhiyan to promote women empowerment in both rural and urban areas. The Haryana Mat Shakti Subsidy Scheme aims to improve the economic and social status of women through various entrepreneurial ventures.
The scheme covers a range of businesses, including auto rickshaw services, taxis, salons, beauty parlours, tailoring, boutiques, photocopy shops, papad and pickle making, confectionery, food stalls, ice cream making units, biscuit making, handloom products, bag making, and canteens.
Through the scheme, the Haryana Mahila Vikas Nigam will provide a 7% interest subsidy for three years on loans taken by beneficiaries, contingent on timely repayment. The maximum loan amount available under the scheme is Rs 5 lakh, with a three-month moratorium period following loan disbursement.
Eligibility Criteria:
To qualify, applicants must be women residing in Haryana, with an income not exceeding Rs 5 lakh, as per the family identity card. Beneficiaries must be aged between 18 and 60 years at the time of application. In the event of delayed loan repayment, the interest subsidy will not be applicable for the overdue period.
Required documents to avail of the loan include the application form, ration card/family identity card, Aadhaar card, two passport-size photographs, residence certificate, project report, and training or experience certificates.
