Chandigarh, June 10: Medical services and academic facilities in the Union Territory are set for a major upgrade following an official administrative clearance for three massive development undertakings. The project appraisal and approval committee, led by Chandigarh Chief Secretary H Rajesh Prasad, gave the green light to construct a new hospital facility and expand existing educational infrastructure.

A primary highlight of the cleared plan is the setting up of a 50-bedded Critical Care Hospital at the Sub-District Hospital in Manimajra to strengthen emergency medical response. Alongside this healthcare expansion, the administration cleared an AYUSH Health and Wellness Centre complete with an administrative block in Sector 28, alongside a fresh academic block at the Government Model Senior Secondary School located in Sector 27-C.

“The projects are designed to significantly elevate public healthcare accessibility while simultaneously enhancing classroom capacity for our student population,” Chief Secretary H Rajesh Prasad declared during the planning session.
