Weather officials have predicted widespread rain and thundershowers for Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh, bringing down temperatures that have consistently broken seasonal records. The changing weather system is anticipated to remain active until the end of the week, offering temporary respite to both urban areas and agricultural belts.
“Under the influence of the incoming western disturbance, a sustained wet spell is highly likely over northwest India till June 13, which should effectively suppress the severe heatwave conditions,” an senior meteorological official affirmed in the seasonal advisory.
