Chandigarh, June 11: The Punjab Government has expanded its technical workforce by deploying forty-eight newly recruited system managers to enhance public service delivery and modernise land records management across the state. Punjab Revenue, Rehabilitation and Disaster Management Minister S. Hardeep Singh Mundian handed over the appointment letters to eleven District System Managers and thirty-seven Assistant System Managers during a function at Punjab Bhawan on Wednesday.

The recruitment drive, initiated by the Punjab Land Records Society in April 2025, concluded with a merit-based selection process. The newly appointed officials are scheduled to undergo a comprehensive two-month training programme at the Director Land Records office in Jalandhar. This preparation includes a month of revenue training alongside a month of practical field experience to equip the personnel with the necessary professional skills for efficient service delivery.

Cabinet Minister S. Hardeep Singh Mundian affirmed that the state administration maintains a strong focus on youth empowerment and employment generation. The Minister asserted that the administration has successfully provided more than sixty-six thousand government jobs to deserving candidates through a transparent mechanism, which has restored the confidence of young aspirants in the system.

Addressing the new recruits, the Revenue Minister declared that the officials must discharge their duties with dedication, integrity, and professionalism. S. Mundian exhorted the technical team to work with sincerity and accountability, urging them to remain uninfluenced by external pressures while contributing actively toward building a prosperous state.

Additional Chief Secretary-cum-Financial Commissioner Revenue Mr. Anurag Verma stated that the selection was completed purely on merit. He declared that because Punjab is an agrarian state, land-related services hold immense significance, placing a vital responsibility on the new managers. Mr. Verma maintained that since land records across the state have been digitised, the responsibility of maintaining and updating these modern technological systems rests largely with these technical officers.

The event was attended by Special Secretary-cum-Director Land Records Mr. Paramvir Singh, alongside senior officers representing the Revenue Department, the Punjab Land Records Society, and the Directorate of Land Records, Punjab.
