Chandigarh, March 14— After being denied a venue by the Panchkula administration, singer Honey Singh will perform at Chandigarh’s Sector 25 rally ground on March 23.
A senior UT official confirmed that the concert organisers had applied to book the ground for five days, with the booking process underway. Attempts to reach Panchkula Deputy Commissioner Monica Gupta and Deputy Commissioner of Police Himadri Kaushik for a reason behind the denial remained unanswered.
The organisers will be charged ₹5 lakh per day, as per the UT Estate Office’s recent revision of booking rates for commercial events exceeding 5,000 attendees. Other events will continue to be charged ₹30,000 per day.
Online ticket bookings for the concert have already begun.
In December 2024, Chandigarh hosted concerts by Karan Aujla and Diljit Dosanjh at the Sector 34 ground, but complaints over noise and traffic congestion led the administration to halt large gatherings there.
As a result, AP Dhillon’s concert was shifted to Sector 25, where Honey Singh’s event will also take place.
