Punjab government’s ‘Rangla Punjab’ initiative draws thousands to Patiala’s cultural festival

Patiala, Feb 24: The fourth day of the Punjab Sakhi Shakti Craft Mela at Sheesh Mahal saw a massive surge in visitors, culminating in a cultural evening headlined by renowned Punjabi singer Harbhajan Mann. The event, organized under the “Rangla Punjab” vision of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, featured a diverse display of traditional crafts and family-oriented musical performances.

Addressing the gathering, Aam Aadmi Party General Secretary Baltej Pannu stated that the state government is making serious and commendable efforts to restore the vibrant cultural heritage of Punjab. He affirmed that such festivals play a vital role in connecting the public with their roots. Patiala MLA Ajitpal Singh Kohli added that the craft mela has become a significant highlight for the city and will leave an indelible memory for the residents.

Harbhajan Mann captivated the audience with a selection of his popular songs, including “Maawan Jannat Da Parchawan,” “Ji Aiyaan Nu,” and “Jag Jiindaan De Mele.” His performance, described by organizers as clean and family-centric, drew applause from a crowd that included residents from Patiala and neighboring cities.

ADC Damanjit Singh Mann welcomed the dignitaries and noted that the fair is successfully promoting the state’s cultural concept. He maintained that while daytime footfall remained high due to the craft exhibitions, the evening session saw a peak in attendance specifically for the cultural showcases.

The event was attended by several prominent personalities, including Sanaur constituency in-charge Ranjodh Singh Hadana, Municipal Corporation Mayor Kundan Gogia, and Improvement Trust Chairman Harpal Singh Virk. District officials affirmed that the festival continues to provide a platform for artisans while offering high-quality entertainment to the public.
