New Delhi/Chandigarh, 08 November 2024: The impact of cold weather is increasing across India, but conditions are expected to shift due to upcoming cyclonic activity and a Western Disturbance.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy rains and strong winds are forecast in multiple states between November 8 and 13.
Snowfall in the hilly areas may lead to dense fog in the plains, affecting visibility.
Heavy Rain Alert for Coastal States
The IMD has issued a warning for coastal regions, including Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal:
November 8: Heavy rainfall is expected in Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.
November 9: Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal are likely to experience heavy rains.
November 10: Continued rainfall is expected in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.
November 11: Overcast skies with rain are anticipated in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.
November 12-13: Heavy rains with cyclonic winds are likely in these coastal states.
Rain Forecast for Other Regions
Light to moderate rain is also expected in Kerala, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh.
These showers may contribute to increasing chill in the air, adding to the existing cold conditions across several parts of the country.
