New Delhi, July 27: India summoned Ukrainian Ambassador Dr. Oleksandr Polishchuk to convey deep concern over a recent attack on commercial vessel MV OMORFI, which resulted in the death of an Indian national.
The Ministry of External Affairs communicated its stance during an official meeting, underscoring the risks posed to global maritime commerce and civilian seafarers in international waters.
“The government requested the ambassador to convey India’s strong concerns regarding attacks on commercial shipping,” declared the External Affairs Ministry in an official statement.
Official communications reiterated that actions endangering non-combatant seafarers remain unacceptable and urged all involved parties to prevent similar occurrences in conflict zones.
The dialogue reflects ongoing diplomatic efforts by India to safeguard maritime navigation and secure its citizens operating along international trade routes.
