Amritsar, June 16 – Social media influencer Deepika Luthra, based in Amritsar, has received a death threat via email, allegedly sent in the name of banned terror outfit Babbar Khalsa International (BKI). The email warns her to stop posting “objectionable” content and threatens to kill her at the “first opportunity.”

Amritsar police officials said they are verifying the contents of the email, which also mentioned another influencer, Preet Jatti.

The threat follows earlier warnings to Luthra by Amritpal Singh Mehron, the main accused in the murder of influencer Kanchan Kumari, who had targeted her over alleged vulgar content. A case against Mehron was earlier registered by the Amritsar cyber cell.

The latest email warns Luthra to not leave her home and chillingly references the murder of Hindu leader Sudhir Suri, who was shot dead in broad daylight despite having security.

Police said security personnel have been deployed at Luthra’s residence and for her family. Investigations are underway to trace the sender and assess the authenticity of the terror outfit’s involvement.
