May 28, IPL 2025: 70 matches of the league round have been completed in IPL 2025. After a lot of struggle, four teams were decided. No one was sure to reach the playoffs till 58 matches, but after this the double header on May 18 solved all the equations. Now the matches of Qualifier-1 and Eliminator have been decided. In the first qualifier to be held on May 29, the top two teams of the points table i.e. Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore will clash.
At the same time, Gujarat Titans will face Mumbai Indians in the Eliminator on May 30. These four teams have reached the playoffs before, but RCB and Punjab have never won the title. Both these teams will try hard for their first title. At the same time, Gujarat won the title in 2022 and Mumbai has won the title five times. 1. Punjab Kings
The Punjab team has been able to make it to the last-four only for the third time. Earlier, the team was able to reach the playoffs in 2008 and 2014. 3. Gujarat Titans
The Gujarat team came into existence in 2022. Since then, this team has been the most consistent team to reach the playoffs in four seasons. The team became the champion in its very first IPL 2025 season in 2022. After this, the team reached the final in 2023 as well, but had to face defeat against CSK. In both these seasons, the Gujarat team topped the points table. After this, in 2024, the Gujarat team was eliminated from the league round itself. The team was then in eighth place. This time the Gujarat team has qualified by finishing third. They have a tough road ahead of them, but this team, which played well during the league stage, can beat anyone on its day.
4. Mumbai Indians
The Mumbai team is a five-time champion. It has won the IPL title in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020. The team was in the top two in all these five seasons. The team has never won the title while finishing third or fourth. This time the team will try to prove this statement wrong. The Mumbai team has reached the playoffs 11 times in total. Apart from the five seasons of becoming champions, the team has reached the playoffs in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2023 and this year. However, in all these seasons the team finished third or fourth and could not even reach the final. Under the captaincy of Hardik, the Mumbai team will try to become champions for the sixth time.
