CHANDIGARH, MAY 21 — International circle-style Kabaddi player Sandeep Luddhar officially joined the Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday, providing a significant boost to the ruling party’s outreach toward the state’s athletic community.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann formally inducted Luddhar and a large contingent of his political supporters during a ceremony in the state capital. Mann presented the prominent athlete with a traditional ceremonial robe, known as a siropa, to mark his entry into the organization.

The administration noted that the inclusion of celebrated sports personalities aligns with ongoing state initiatives designed to promote athletic infrastructure and engage local youth across the region.

“Today the Aam Aadmi Party family has witnessed another remarkable addition,” Mann stated during the induction event. “Eminent and talented player of Punjab’s own sport Kabaddi, Sandeep Luddhar, has joined the party today. On behalf of the party, I warmly welcome him.”

The Chief Minister asserted that the participation of young icons who have achieved distinction in international sports forums remains vital to realizing the administration’s long-term socioeconomic vision for the territory.

“The support of such youth, who have brought glory to Punjab in sports arenas, will further strengthen our mission to build a ‘Rangla Punjab’,” Mann said, referencing the state’s ongoing development campaign. “Their experience will greatly help in inspiring the youth towards sports. Let us all together take Punjab’s youth and sports to even greater heights.”

Following his formal induction, the international sports star declared that his decision to enter mainstream politics was driven by the current government’s governance track record and welfare initiatives.

“I am deeply impressed by the policies of the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the development works being carried out for the progress of the state,” Luddhar stated, adding that he intends to dedicate his efforts to organizational growth and regional welfare.
