CHANDIGARH, May 25 — On the eve of municipal elections across Punjab, Aam Aadmi Party Member of Parliament from Sri Anandpur Sahib, Malvinder Singh Kang, made a direct appeal to the electorate to turn out in large numbers to back ruling party candidates on Tuesday.
The parliamentarian stated that the municipal corporation, council, and committee elections are vital for securing the next phase of urban transformation. He noted that the outcome of the polling would directly affect everyday civic amenities, localized infrastructure projects, sanitation, and neighborhood development.
“Local bodies and municipal institutions play a crucial role in improving the lives of people living in urban and semi-urban areas,” Kang said, adding that civic administrative bodies are central to resolving day-to-day public grievances efficiently.
The voting covers multiple urban zones, including the Mohali Municipal Corporation and several key committees within the Sri Anandpur Sahib parliamentary constituency. Kang asserted that a decisive victory for the party would reinforce the public welfare and development mission led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann over the last four years.
Listing specific election sites, the MP pointed out that regions like Naya Gaon, Kurali, Chamkaur Sahib, Rupnagar, Kiratpur Sahib, Anandpur Sahib, Nangal, Garhshankar, Banga, and Nawanshahr are all prepared for polling. He maintained that supporting the party’s nominees would ensure a seamless alignment between state policies and local governance.
