Chandigarh, Sept 8 — A Himachal Pradesh resident has accused a city-based immigration consultancy of cheating him of ₹32.37 lakh on the pretext of arranging a work visa abroad.
Police said the complainant, Sparsh Sood of Kangra district, paid the amount to World Walk Immigration, located at SCO No. 110–111, second floor, Sector 17-C. Representatives of the firm, including Anubhav Garg alias Anshu, allegedly assured him that they would secure a job placement and visa overseas.
However, despite repeated assurances, no visa was arranged. Realising he had been defrauded, Sood lodged a complaint with Chandigarh Police.
A case has been registered under Sections 318(4) and 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 24 of the Immigration Act. Police said further investigation is underway.
