Chandigarh/Guwahati, August 29 – Punjab governor and Chandigarh administrator Gulab Chand Kataria on Friday called on Union home minister Amit Shah in Guwahati and expressed gratitude for the Centre’s approval of ₹125 crore for the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation.
According to an official release, Kataria said the grant would go a long way in strengthening the city’s infrastructure and public amenities.
He also briefed Shah on the flood situation in Punjab, detailing the progress of relief and rescue efforts, the condition of affected areas, and the assistance needed in the coming weeks.
The meeting also touched upon issues of regional development, disaster management, and measures to improve public services.
