Delhi got victory
Delhi Capitals defeated Lucknow Super Giants by eight wickets with the half-centuries of KL Rahul and Abhishek Porel. Lucknow scored 159 runs for six wickets in 20 overs on the basis of Aiden Markram’s half-century, in response, Delhi won the match by scoring 161 runs for two wickets in 17.5 overs. For Delhi, Rahul scored an unbeaten 57 runs with the help of three fours and three sixes in 42 balls, while Porel played an innings of 51 runs with the help of five fours and a six in 36 balls. Delhi won both its matches against Lucknow this season.
LSG vs DC: Rahul Breaks Records in IPL
With this Rahul also completed 5000 runs in IPL. He has become the batsman to do so in the least number of innings. Rahul completed this feat in 130 innings and left David Warner behind. Warner had completed 5000 runs in IPL in 135 innings. While chasing the target Delhi suffered the first blow in the form of Karun Nair who was dismissed after scoring 15 runs off nine balls with the help of two fours and a six. After this, Rahul and Porel took Delhi’s innings forward and added 69 runs for the second wicket.
During this, Porel hit his first half-century of this season. However, after hitting a fifty, he could not stay at the crease for long and Markram got him caught by David Miller and sent him to the pavilion. Then captain Akshar Patel came to the crease and he played a partnership with Rahul. Rahul and Akshar changed gears and started playing fast. Rahul completed his half-century off 40 balls and then hit a six off Prince Yadav to give the team victory. For Delhi, Akshar Patel returned unbeaten after scoring 34 runs off 20 balls with the help of one four and four sixes. Rahul and Akshar made an unbeaten partnership of 56 runs for the third wicket. Markram got both the wickets for Lucknow.
