Ludhiana/Chandigarh, Jan 31: Ludhiana-based advocate Prabhjot Singh Sachdeva has achieved a rare double feat by topping the Higher Judicial Service examinations in both Punjab and Haryana. The 38-year-old legal professional, who has practiced at the District Courts for over 14 years, is now set to join the higher judiciary as an Additional District and Sessions Judge.

The results, which placed Sachdeva at the top of both state lists, mark a significant milestone in his career. Reflecting on the accomplishment, Sachdeva noted that the outcome was the result of a long, disciplined journey rather than a sudden stroke of luck.

“This achievement was shaped by years of disciplined preparation, quiet struggle, and sustained effort,” Sachdeva said.

An alumnus of SCD Government College for Boys and Panjab University Regional Centre, Sachdeva maintained a strong academic record throughout his education before pursuing his LLM at Kurukshetra University. He credited his professional foundation to his late mentor, advocate Madan Lal Sharma, and expressed deep gratitude for the support of his wife, Dr. Tawanpreet Kaur, and his parents.

Regarding his upcoming transition to the bench, Sachdeva mentioned the gravity of the role he is about to undertake.

“The higher judiciary carries a solemn duty to uphold constitutional values and ensure justice for all,” he said, adding that he intends to serve the institution with sincere integrity.

Members of the District Bar Association, including president Vipin Saggar and secretary Himanshu Walia, celebrated the news. They described the success as a proud moment for the entire Ludhiana legal fraternity.
