Chandigarh, Feb 10:Tertiary treated water supply across Chandigarh will remain suspended for five days starting Tuesday to facilitate urgent infrastructure repairs.

Municipal Corporation officials confirmed the disruption will last from February 10 to February 14. The temporary shutdown is necessary to replace a damaged system at the Sewage Treatment Plant located in Phase 11, Diggian, Mohali. This facility is a primary source for the city’s non-potable water needs, including the maintenance of green belts and public parks.

“The suspension has been implemented due to the urgent replacement of a damaged system at the Sewage Treatment Plant,” an MC official noted while discussing the timeline for the technical upgrades.

The department is working to ensure the replacement is completed within the scheduled window to restore normal flow to the city’s tertiary network. In the interim, residents and departmental supervisors responsible for irrigation have been informed to adjust their schedules. Officials mentioned that the work at the Diggian plant is a priority to prevent further technical failures in the distribution line.
