New Delhi, 11 February 2025: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday rejected claims of internal dissent in the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) state unit, asserting that its leaders and workers remained committed to the party’s vision.
His response came after Punjab Congress leader Partap Singh Bajwa claimed that over 30 AAP MLAs were in contact with his party and could switch sides.
“Bajwa has been saying this for a long time. Instead of counting our MLAs, he should check how many his party has in Delhi,” Mann said, dismissing the Congress leader’s remarks.
He noted that AAP leaders were dedicated and had no greed, adding, “We built this party with our sweat and blood, meeting people in villages and towns across Punjab.”
Mann’s comments followed a meeting in Delhi’s Kapurthala House, where AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal met Punjab ministers and MLAs.
According to Mann, Kejriwal expressed gratitude to Punjab’s leaders for their efforts in the recent Delhi Assembly elections.
Bajwa had earlier suggested that AAP MLAs were reconsidering their political future, claiming they saw no long-term benefit in staying with the party.
Mann dismissed the assertion, reiterating that AAP was focused on governance and development in Punjab.
He mentioned that the party aimed to position Punjab as a model state ahead of the next Assembly elections, underlining AAP’s commitment to public welfare and long-term progress.
