Chandigarh, 01 January 2025 – The Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has announced a new initiative to support AIDS victims in the state. Under this scheme, HIV patients will receive financial assistance of Rs. 1500 per month to help with their basic needs.

In addition to financial aid, the government will provide free transportation for AIDS patients to travel from their homes to Anti-Retroviral Therapy Centers for treatment once a month. The move is part of a broader effort by the Punjab government to address the challenges faced by individuals living with HIV. A task force will also be established to enhance the employability of HIV-positive individuals, helping them lead a dignified life and integrate into society without facing discrimination.

Chief Minister Mann underlined that the initiative is aimed at improving the quality of life for those affected by HIV and ensuring they have access to essential services without facing societal stigma.

The Punjab government’s efforts reflect a commitment to public welfare and creating an inclusive environment for all.
