Meerut, March 2025— The Meerut murder case has taken a brutal turn, with the post-mortem report of Saurabh Rajput, a merchant navy officer, revealing horrifying details of his death.
Meerut Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Antriksh Jain said Rajput’s body bore multiple stab wounds, including three on the left side, along with cut marks on the neck and wrist. “The most disturbing part is that both the wrist and neck were severed from the body,” Jain said.
The police have accused Rajput’s wife, Muskan Rastogi, and her lover, Sahil Shukla, of stabbing him multiple times in the chest before dismembering his body and hiding it in a cement-filled drum.
“The investigation is ongoing. We have collected all evidence and recorded statements of around 10 to 12 people directly linked to the case,” Jain said, adding that the police had traced the woman’s purchase of the drum and the medicine used in the crime.
Authorities are now awaiting evidence from Himachal Pradesh to reconstruct the crime scene and take the accused into remand. “As soon as our team brings evidence from Himachal, we will also get the scene reconstructed and take remand of the accused,” Jain added.
