Phagwara, Sept 21: An extraordinary turn of fortune, Madhu, a migrant farm labourer currently residing in the Banga region, bagged the top prize of Rs 3 crore in the Sikkim Dear Ganesh Chaturthi Bumper Lottery.
Originally hailing from West Bengal, Madhu relocated to the Banga area to earn a livelihood as an agricultural worker. His circumstances transformed rapidly after he decided to purchase a lottery ticket from the local Sahota Lottery Stall in Banga barely an hour before the scheduled announcement of results.
