Mohali, Oct 23: The Mohali Municipal Corporation began infrastructure improvement works in Mauli Baidwan village, kicking off a Rs 55.01 lakh project to install paver blocks across local streets. Mayor Sarabjit Singh Samana formally inaugurated the initiative in Ward No. 26 by laying the foundation stone, entrusting the execution to the Gopal Cooperative Society to enhance local transit and street conditions.
Speaking during the inauguration, Mayor Samana emphasized that upgrading basic amenities in newly incorporated municipal areas remains a core priority for the civic body. He addressed ongoing public utility concerns, assuring residents that a new tubewell is being set up alongside plans to connect the village to a canal-based water supply network to permanently resolve drinking water shortages.
Local representatives, including Ward Councilor Satwinder Singh Mitthu, acknowledged the new infrastructure project while raising lingering concerns regarding waste management at the village collection point and damaged peripheral roads. Mayor Samana assured community leaders that civic teams will address both the road repairs and refuse collection issues promptly.
