Mohali, 20 February 2025— Motorcycle-borne snatchers struck twice within an hour in Mohali on Wednesday, targeting women in separate incidents in Phase 2 and Sector 86.
In the first case, Jasbir Kaur was sitting in the courtyard of her Phase 2 home when two men on a motorcycle stopped outside. One of them entered, pushed her, and snatched her gold chain before escaping with his accomplice. “They took my chain, which weighed around 2.5 tolas, and fled,” she said.
Shortly after, another woman was targeted at the Sector 86 market. She suffered neck injuries as the snatchers grabbed her gold chain, which she estimated to weigh about two tolas.
Police reached both locations, conducted surveys, and registered cases. “We are reviewing CCTV footage from the areas to identify the suspects,” officials said.
