NEW DELHI, CHANDIGARH, JULY 30 — Sangrur Lok Sabha MP Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer addressed Parliament during discussions on the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, reflecting on the sustained efforts of young citizens demanding focus on core administrative and educational priorities. Speaking on the floor of the House, the MP asserted that public demonstrations, including recent youth gatherings at Jantar Mantar, have drawn necessary attention to critical societal issues such as education and job creation.
The Sangrur representative maintained that legislative amendments focusing primarily on stricter penalties may not address underlying systemic challenges unless existing laws are consistently enforced.
“No one is being punished anyway, increasing penalties in the amendment bill will make no difference,” stated MP Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer in the Lok Sabha.
The MP declared that real progress requires comprehensive educational reforms and robust systems that effectively support students and job aspirants. He asserted that constructive dialogue around administrative transparency remains essential for building a fairer future for the youth.
