NEW DELHI, July 14 — In a significant administrative reshuffle, President Droupadi Murmu on Monday appointed new Governors for two states and a new Lieutenant Governor for the Union Territory of Ladakh.
Prof Ashim Kumar Ghosh has been named the new Governor of Haryana, while senior leader Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju has been appointed Governor of Goa. Kavinder Gupta, a former Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, has been appointed as the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh.
The Rashtrapati Bhavan confirmed the appointments in an official communiqué, stating that the changes will take effect from the dates they assume charge of their respective offices.
The reshuffle is seen as part of the Centre’s ongoing effort to strengthen administrative leadership in both states and Union Territories.
