Amritsar, June 29: Amritsar will soon house a grand temple dedicated to Mata Sita, Mata Janaki, and Luv-Kush to preserve the region’s ancient spiritual heritage, Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal announced. Speaking alongside Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann at the ‘Ek Shaam Bhagwan Shivji Ke Naam’ devotional gathering in the holy city, the leaders declared a series of far-reaching cultural and social initiatives designed to respect the religious sentiments of the public.

The proposed temple complex will be established adjacent to the historical Bhagwan Valmiki temple site, marking the historical significance of the area where Luv and Kush were born and educated. The state administration maintains that the aesthetically designed monument will serve as a prominent global center of faith and spiritual tourism, attracting devotees from across the world.

Reflecting on the cultural importance of the project, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal said, “Today, I announce that a grand temple dedicated to Luv, Kush and Mata Janaki will be built next to the temple of Lord Valmiki. This is not just good news for the people of Amritsar but for devotees of Bhagwan Ram and Mata Janaki across the world.”

The spiritual initiatives are paired with a broad expansion of the Mukh Mantri Teerath Yatra Yojna, which will introduce three new pilgrimage routes starting August 1. The state government will completely fund travel, lodging, and meals for nearly 1.5 lakh pilgrims heading to prominent destinations including Haridwar, Rishikesh, Mathura, Vrindavan, Salasar, and Khatu Shyam Ji. Additionally, the administration is overseeing an ₹80 crore comprehensive redevelopment of Patiala’s historic Kali Mata Temple, scheduled for completion this autumn.

The Chief Minister asserted that the administration remains equally committed to parallel infrastructure and healthcare developments, such as the operationalization of Aam Aadmi Clinics providing up to ₹10 lakh in cashless medical treatment. The devotional event also featured the presence of AAP Punjab Prabhari Manish Sisodia alongside other prominent regional dignitaries.
