Chandigarh, April 9 — The National Investigation Agency has arrested Abhijot Singh of Gurdaspur, the sixth accused in the Chandigarh grenade attack case, for his alleged role in the terror conspiracy orchestrated by foreign-based Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) operatives.

Abhijot, already lodged in jail for a separate grenade attack on a police station, was in direct contact with US-based Harpreet Singh alias Happy Passia. Pakistan-based Harwinder Singh Sandhu alias Rinda and Happy have already been chargesheeted as absconders, while three others were arrested earlier. Following Abhijot’s arrest, the NIA also searched a location in Karnal, Haryana, to track down the broader network involved in the plot.
