AMRITSAR | May 20, 2025 —Displaying public solidarity and national resolve, Bharatiya Janata Party National General Secretary Tarun Chugh led a massive Tiranga Yatra through Amritsar today, declaring that India, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has shown the world there is no room for both peace and terrorism.
The rally was held in recognition of the Indian Armed Forces and Operation Sindoor—a bold military mission targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan. Chugh said the march served as a public acknowledgment of India’s gratitude and unity in the face of cross-border threats.
“This is not the India of the past,” Chugh told the gathering. “This is a new India that desires peace but will go to any length to wipe out terrorism. Terror and talks cannot go hand in hand, and the illusion of ‘terror and trade’ will no longer be entertained.”
While Operation Sindoor has been temporarily paused, Chugh clarified it is “far from over.” He said future dealings with Pakistan will hinge solely on two conditions: the return of Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir or the total dismantling of Pakistani-sponsored terrorism.
“Every drop of Indian blood spilt will cost them water,” Chugh warned, referencing India’s control over water treaties. “There will be no compromise on the dignity and security of our nation.”
He further stated that Operation Sindoor is more than a military operation—it is a reflection of India’s firm stand on justice and sovereignty. “Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, our forces entered Pakistani soil to destroy terror hubs run by Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen,” he said.
Chugh also condemned Pakistan’s recent drone and missile attack targeting the Golden Temple in Amritsar, calling it a direct assault on Punjab’s spiritual and cultural soul. “It wasn’t just provocation—it was an attack on faith,” he said. “Let there be no doubt: such evil intentions will be met with overwhelming retaliation.”
The Yatra saw participation from a cross-section of society, including Army veterans, students, local residents, and notable citizens of Amritsar. Organized by the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Welfare Club, the procession began at Lahori Gate and wound through Beri Gate Inner Circle, Katra Bhai Sant Singh, Bazaar Khilona, Tunda Talab Chowk, Bazaar Tokrian, and Katra Sufaid, before returning to its starting point.
A striking moment came when a young girl, dressed as Bharat Mata, stood atop a chariot as crowds erupted in chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” “We are with Forces,” and “Nation with Operation Sindoor.” Students carried a 100-foot-long Indian flag and posters bearing images of soldiers, the Prime Minister, and symbols of Operation Sindoor. Members of the organizing club donned yellow turbans in homage to freedom fighter Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh.
“Today, Amritsar has spoken,” Chugh said as the rally concluded. “India stands united, and terror will never shake our foundation.”
