NEW DELHI, MAY 29 — The National Testing Agency has extended the deadline to June 22 for candidates to submit their bank account details to receive a full refund of their NEET-UG 2026 examination fees.

The extension follows the total cancellation of the initial May 3 medical entrance test amid ongoing investigations into allegations of a question paper leak. The testing agency previously confirmed that approximately 23 lakh registered students will not be charged any additional fees for the upcoming re-examination, which is scheduled to take place nationwide on June 21.

According to an official notification released by the agency on Wednesday, roughly 13 lakh candidates have successfully uploaded their financial information since the correction window opened. The initial timeline, which ran from May 22 to May 26, was extended after data showed that nearly 10 lakh registered applicants had yet to complete the mandatory banking updates required to process the financial reversals.

“In order to facilitate candidates who are yet to submit their bank account details, NTA has decided to extend the facility for submission of bank account details till June 22, 2026,” the testing authority stated in its public announcement.

To claim the refund, applicants must log into the official NEET-UG 2026 registration portal using their personal credentials and navigate to the designated refund link. Testing officials noted that candidates have the option to upload an image of a cancelled cheque to verify their routing information and avoid processing errors.

The agency cautioned that the banking data provided during this window will be locked immediately upon submission to prevent administrative delays. “Once the bank account details are submitted, the same shall be treated as final and no further modification shall be permitted thereafter,” the agency notice affirmed. The digital portal will accept banking updates until 11:50 p.m. on the night of the deadline.
