New Delhi May 25: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday hailed Operation Sindoor as a defining moment in India’s fight against terrorism, calling it “the face of a changing India” during his monthly radio address Mann Ki Baat. He said the operation showcased the country’s growing strength, resolve, and unity on the global stage.
“Operation Sindoor is the picture of our resolve, courage, and a changing India,” Modi said.
He described the precision airstrikes by Indian forces on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and PoK as extraordinary, stressing that the mission was not a one-off act but a message of India’s clear intent.
“Today the entire country is united against terrorism, filled with anger and determination… Operation Sindoor has infused new confidence and energy into the global fight against terrorism,” he noted.
The PM also pointed to the emotional and cultural impact of the operation. From Tiranga Yatras and patriotic poems to children’s paintings and newborns named ‘Sindoor’, Modi said the public response showed a wave of national pride.
“In cities like Katihar and Kushinagar, families named their newborns ‘Sindoor’ in honour of the operation,” he shared.
He recounted his recent visit to Bikaner, where he was presented paintings made by children reflecting the spirit of the mission.
Modi credited India’s indigenous defence industry for enabling the operation’s success, linking it to the broader Aatmanirbhar Bharat push.
“This was the ultimate bravery of our soldiers, backed by the power of weapons, equipment, and technology made in India,” the PM said.
He also highlighted a renewed momentum in the ‘Vocal for Local’ campaign, saying the operation stirred not just patriotism but also deepened public commitment to self-reliance.
“This victory carries the sweat of our engineers, technicians, and every citizen who contributed,” he said.
