Patiala Bans Liquor Sales Ahead of Haryana Polls

Patiala: The Patiala administration has imposed a ban on liquor sales in villages within an eight-kilometer radius of Ambala, ahead of the Haryana Assembly elections scheduled for October 5.

According to reports, the restriction, which includes the closure of liquor vends, will be enforced from October 3 to October 5.

Moreover, October 8, the day of the election results, will also be observed as a dry day, with all liquor vends remaining closed.

The orders specify that the storage and movement of liquor will be prohibited during this period.

This decision follows a request by the Ambala Deputy Commissioner to ensure smooth conduct of the elections.
