CHANDIGARH/PATIALA, MAY 11 — The Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana has provided critical medical assistance to a 46-year-old Patiala resident, Sunita Rani, who had been struggling with debilitating kidney stones and uncontrolled diabetes. After registering for the state-funded health insurance program, Rani received a Sehat Card that granted her family access to comprehensive medical care at Mata Kaushalya Hospital without financial burden.
Upon admission, medical staff diagnosed Rani with stones lodged in her ureter. Due to complications from high blood sugar and severe physical swelling, physicians initiated a preliminary stabilization phase before proceeding with surgical intervention. Doctors stated that managing these secondary conditions is a vital step to ensure the safety of the upcoming operation.
“When the pain became unbearable, I registered under the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana,” Sunita Rani stated. She affirmed that the medical team has been continuously monitoring her condition, noting that her swelling has subsided and her diabetes medication has been adjusted.
Medical experts at the hospital noted that kidney stone cases are increasingly common among patients with diabetes and poor hydration habits. They asserted that early diagnosis provided through state schemes is essential to prevent severe infections.
Rani maintained that the ability to access specialists without the stress of upfront costs has transformed her outlook on her recovery. “From my initial treatment to the surgery in coming days, I will not have to pay anything, and it is such a comfort and relief,” she affirmed.
