Chandigarh, 16 January 2025: The Punjab government has approved a 5% salary hike for outsourced Punbus and PRTC employees following protests demanding regularization and better pay.
The decision came after a meeting between the protesting employees and Transport Minister Laljit Bhullar.
The salary increase will benefit drivers, conductors, and workshop staff, effective from November 1. Workers completing one year of service by November 1, 2024, will also be eligible.
Additionally, night shift allowances for drivers and conductors have been revised.
Those on night duty in Shimla will now receive ₹90 per shift, up from ₹60, while Delhi-based workers will be paid ₹120, doubling the previous ₹60 allowance.
