Petrol Pump Manager Robbed of ₹5.27 Lakh in Aerocity

Mohali, 29 January 2025: Three armed men on a motorcycle attacked a petrol pump manager and fled with his scooter and a bag containing ₹5.27 lakh in Aerocity on Monday afternoon.

Sukhvir Singh, 57, a resident of Bakarpur village and manager at Baidwan Filling Station in Alampur, told police he was on his way to deposit the petrol pump’s collection at a private bank in Bakarpur around 3:30 p.m. when the robbery occurred.

“As I reached House Number 4446 in Block-E, Aerocity, a motorcycle approached from behind. One of the riders struck my neck with a sharp weapon, causing me to lose balance and fall. I managed to move away from my scooter, but they brandished a small sword, threatened me, and fled with my vehicle and cash bag containing ₹5,27,720,” Singh told the police.

A CCTV camera in the area captured the attack. A pedestrian was seen hurriedly leaving the spot but did not intervene.

Police have registered a case under Section 304(2) (snatching) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and are working to identify the accused.
