Zirakpur, March 23—A day after Ludhiana-based gangster Lovish Grover, alias Lovi, was arrested following a police encounter in Shiva Enclave on VIP Road, Zirakpur, police nabbed his accomplice on Saturday.
The accused, identified as Gurpreet Singh, a Sangrur native currently renting an apartment in Orbit Apartments, Zirakpur, was found in possession of a pistol, 12 live cartridges, and opium.
According to police, Gurpreet works as a gym trainer and was aiding Lovi, who was apprehended on Friday after being shot in the leg during the encounter.
During the earlier raid, police recovered three sophisticated weapons—including a Glock pistol, a rifle, and a .39-bore pistol—along with ammunition, 400 gm of opium, and ₹2.5 lakh from the flat where Lovi was hiding.
