Sangrur, 17 January 2025 – Punjab Police traced four boys from Sangrur, aged 12 to 13 years, to Sriganganagar, Rajasthan, within 60 hours of their disappearance on January 13.

Sangrur Senior Superintendent of Police Sartaj Singh Chahal said the boys were located using technology after they boarded a train from Dhuri railway station.

The boys were found wandering at Sriganganagar railway station and safely returned to their families in Focal Point, Sangrur.

The boys, Sahil Khan, 12, son of Sukari Khan; Pankaj Kumar, 12, son of Srilekh Rishidev; and brothers Sonu Kumar, 12, and Deepesh Kumar, 13, sons of Tunna Shah, are students of Classes 6 and 7.

They informed the police they had embarked on an “adventure” without notifying their families.

The search began when Tunna Shah filed a complaint, fearing the children might have been lured away. “Our immediate concern was the boys’ safety, and the team acted swiftly,” said Chahal.

Sub-Inspector Daljit Singh Virk led the investigation alongside Inspector Sandeep Singh and Station House Officer Manjeet Singh. They tracked the boys’ movements and ensured their prompt return, averting any potential risks.
