Faridabad, Dec 6: A late-night encounter between police and an interstate criminals occurred near Chandila Chowk on Wednesday, leaving the accused, Vipin, injured with a gunshot wound to the leg.
According to reports, the police apprehended him and admitted him to BK Hospital for treatment.
The incident began when Crime Branch Sector-85, while patrolling, received information about Vipin, a known member of a robbery and theft gang active in Faridabad.
Acting swiftly, the team located Vipin, who attempted to escape in his car. A high-speed chase ensued, culminating in Vipin abandoning his vehicle and firing at the police. The officers retaliated, injuring him before taking him into custody.
Vipin, a resident of Raj Sinorsa village in Bihar, has a criminal record spanning 13 cases, including 12 in Faridabad and one in Gurugram. Recently out on bail, he and his gang are alleged to have committed 10 thefts in Faridabad, Noida, and Gurugram.
A case has been registered against Vipin under multiple sections, including obstructing government work and attempted murder of police personnel.
His interrogation has revealed his involvement in numerous criminal activities, further solidifying his role as a key figure in the interstate gang.
