Police Solves Chandigarh Shooting Case, Arrest Two

Chandigarh: Three days after a shooting incident at a taxi stand in Sector 32 left two men injured, Chandigarh Police apprehended two notorious criminals connected to the case.

The suspects, identified as 31-year-old Dheeraj Sharma, also known as Sunny, and 29-year-old Sukhwinder Singh, alias Kali, were arrested on Friday by the District Crime Cell.

Police revealed that the shooting occurred after Dheeraj and Sukhwinder approached Rajesh, a taxi driver from Nayagaon, Mohali, and his colleagues at the Gosal Taxi Stand.

Dheeraj allegedly demanded money for drugs and became aggressive when Rajesh refused to comply.

In a fit of rage, he instructed Sukhwinder to open fire, resulting in multiple gunshots. During the attack, police said further.

Rajesh was struck in the hand, while his colleague, Honey Bhardwaj, was shot in the neck.

Both victims are currently hospitalized due to their injuries. Following the violent episode, the suspects fled the scene, prompting a swift manhunt by the Chandigarh Police.

The arrested duo has a history of criminal activity, with multiple cases registered against them.
