June 8, IPL 2025: The final of IPL 2025 will be played today between Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This is a historic occasion for Preity Zinta’s team Punjab Kings, because if the team defeats RCB, the actress will become the fourth Bollywood celebrity to win the IPL trophy.

Preity Zinta’s team Punjab Kings has not won the IPL trophy till now. However, this time the team has made it to the finals with a brilliant performance. Under the captaincy of team captain Shreyas Iyer, Punjab Kings entered the final after defeating Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 2. Shreyas Iyer played an important role in the team’s victory by scoring an unbeaten 87 off 41 balls.
Preity Zinta gave a message to the team
Before the final, Preity Zinta shared an inspiring message for her team players on social media. He appealed to the players to focus, follow coach Ricky Ponting’s advice and play as a team.
He wrote, ‘My message to the players of Punjab Kings is – don’t pay attention to external things, focus on the game, listen to Ricky, play as a team and have fun on the field, win the trophy for us this time.’
Challenging journey of Royal Challengers Bangalore
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is also set to win the IPL trophy. The captain of the team is Rajat Patidar but wants to dedicate the trophy to Virat Kohli by winning completely. RCB have made it to the final three times so far, but have not been able to win the trophy. This time the team’s eyes are on winning the trophy for the first time.
Shilpa-Shah Rukh won the trophy
Before this, the first Bollywood celebrity to win the IPL trophy was Shilpa Shetty, who used to be the owner of the team Rajasthan Royals at that time. In the first season of IPL in the year 2008, under the captaincy of Shane Warne, Rajasthan Royals won. However, now Shilpa is not the owner of Rajasthan Royals. In 2015, due to a betting case, Shilpa left her share from this team.
After this, Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla were also given the privilege of winning the IPL trophy three times by their Kolkata Knight Riders, not once or twice. Both these co-owners won the IPL title in 2012, 2014 and 2024.
