Chandigarh, Sept. 3: Voting for the Panjab University Campus Students’ Council (PUCSC) elections is underway, with authorities extending entry times to departments due to continuous rainfall in Chandigarh.
Originally, departmental gates were scheduled to close at 9:30 a.m., with a 10-minute window for latecomers. However, in response to persistent rains, Panjab University administration announced that students would be allowed entry until 10:45 a.m. to ensure maximum participation.
“As per the latest order, students entering the department by 10:45 a.m. shall be allowed to vote,” a university spokesperson said.
Despite the weather, leaders of various political groups participating in the PUCSC elections urged students to reach polling venues on time. The revised schedule aims to accommodate voters and prevent disruption caused by the rainfall.
Authorities continue to monitor conditions across the campus, ensuring that students can cast their votes safely and without inconvenience.
