Chandigarh, December 18: Sarwan Singh Pandher, leader of Sanyukt Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and Kisan Mazdoor Ekta, has announced a Punjab bandh on December 30. Pandher assured that emergency services would remain unaffected during the shutdown.
He also stated that meetings with shopkeepers, religious organizations, and trade unions are planned to seek their support for the bandh.
In Haryana, Khapas are set to hold a press conference at Kisan Bhawan, Chandigarh, on December 19 at noon to discuss the ongoing farmers’ agitation. Potential announcements regarding the movement are expected during the briefing.
Meanwhile, farmer leader Abhimanyu Kohar, speaking at a press conference on the Khanauri border, questioned the unfulfilled promises made by political parties. Kohar expressed concern over the health of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, stating, “While we respect the Supreme Court’s sentiments regarding Dallewal’s health, it is important to address why his condition is worsening.”
Kohar urged the court to direct the government to act on the farmers’ demands.
