Amritsar, December 18, 2024: Municipal Corporation, Municipal Council, and Nagar Panchayat elections across Punjab are scheduled for December 21, with voting to be held from 7 am to 4 pm and results declared the same day. Ahead of the polls, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led a roadshow in Amritsar alongside Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders and candidates.

The roadshow, part of AAP’s campaign efforts, saw participation from party leaders including Punjab President Aman Arora, Working President Shari Kalsi, Cabinet Ministers Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal and Gurmeet Singh Khudian, as well as city MLAs and Lok Sabha candidates.

Addressing the gathering, CM Mann described Amritsar as a “holy city of Guru and the land of martyrs,” expressing gratitude for the opportunity to visit. He urged residents to vote for AAP’s “broom” symbol, linking it to the future of their children. “Amritsar has a rich history, but its challenges, such as narrow streets, sewage issues, and dirty drains, will soon be addressed. We have ready projects to solve these problems,” he said.

Mann also emphasized his government’s transparency, asserting that jobs are being provided without corruption. “We’ve given 50,000 jobs so far, without bribes,” he remarked, contrasting AAP’s approach with that of rival parties. He criticized the Akali Dal, claiming, “One has lost the public’s trust, and the others are fighting among themselves. It’s time for new blood and a new party to lead Punjab.”

The CM urged voters to give AAP a chance, pledging that the party’s vision would bring Amritsar and Punjab the change they deserve.
