Chandigarh, PUNJAB, DEC 28 – The farmers’ struggle that began on February 13 at the Shambhu and Khanauri borders has intensified, with farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal’s hunger strike entering its 32nd day. Ahead of the Punjab bandh called for December 30, activists led by Sarwan Singh Pandher are mobilizing support across the state.

Posters have been displayed at bus stands and railway stations urging people to back the bandh. Non-political groups like Kisan Mazdoor Morcha and Sanjha Kisan Morcha, along with the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee Punjab, marched in large numbers to raise awareness. State leaders, including Sarwan Singh Pandher, Jarmanjit Singh Bandala, and Gurbachan Singh Chabba, spearheaded efforts to involve farmers, laborers, traders, and the general public.

The groups announced plans to block roads and railways and urged Punjabis to support the movement by temporarily closing their businesses. They emphasized that this bandh aims to display Punjab’s unity in the ongoing struggle against the central government.
