DHURI, Feb 16— Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal paid obeisance at the Sri Rankeshwar Mahadev Temple on February 15, joining devotees in celebrating the festival of Maha Shivratri. Accompanied by Punjab Incharge Manish Sisodia, the leaders sought blessings at the revered Siddh Peeth for the prosperity of the state and the enduring brotherhood of its people.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann maintained that the visit was an opportunity to pray for peace and harmony across the country. He affirmed that the Punjab government is taking significant steps to perpetuate the state’s rich cultural heritage. The Chief Minister stated that by organizing unprecedented celebrations for various spiritual milestones, the government ensures the younger generation remains aware of Punjab’s diverse and storied past.

Arvind Kejriwal declared that Maha Shivratri is an essential cornerstone of Indian civilization that symbolizes spiritual awakening and self-discipline. He noted that the festival inspires a pursuit of truth and emphasizes the importance of devotion and harmony. He further stated that the historic Ranike village temple represents the spiritual energy generated through centuries of penance and traditional worship.

The leaders observed that the temple holds immense importance in the Malwa belt, serving as a reminder of the multiple layers of spiritual history that have shaped the region’s identity. They asserted that the shrine’s link to the ancient penance of Arjuna connects Punjab to the broader epic heritage of India. This continuity of rituals, they affirmed, is a vital part of the region’s intangible cultural heritage.

The Chief Minister and the AAP National Convener concluded by stating that the state government is committed to celebrating all major cultural and religious events with great fervor. They maintained that these efforts help strengthen regional identity and bring together people from all walks of life under a shared banner of spiritual and social unity.
