Chandigarh, September 10 — Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann extended his gratitude to Punjabi singer Mankirt Aulakh and industrialist Pritpal Singh for their assistance to families hit by recent floods, calling their efforts “commendable” and an example of community spirit.

Speaking over the phone from a private hospital, where he is undergoing treatment, Mann assured that the state government remains committed to helping residents rebuild their lives. “The state government is leaving no stone unturned for this noble cause,” he said, adding that Aulakh and Singh’s relief work reflected a “missionary spirit” in serving those most affected.

Mann also underscored that public contributions to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund are making a significant difference. He noted that citizens from across the state have been donating generously, describing their response as timely and compassionate. “It is important that the needy people get help in time. Every penny of the people’s contribution will give great relief to the flood-affected areas,” Mann said.

The Chief Minister pointed out that Punjab has suffered extensive losses from the natural disaster, and the government has already initiated measures to compensate farmers and residents for the damages. He mentioned that support from individuals and organizations would supplement official relief efforts.

“The generosity shown by donors will definitely bring relief to the flood-affected areas of the state,” Mann remarked, stating that such assistance helps ensure urgent needs are met without delay.

Mann reiterated that the administration’s focus remains on both immediate rehabilitation and long-term recovery. He said that contributions from citizens, alongside state-led measures, are vital in easing hardships for families grappling with the aftermath.
