CHANDIGARH — Reaffirming the state’s strict stance under the ongoing ‘Yudh Nashean Virudh’ campaign, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced that the investigation into the killing of anti-drug activist Parvinder Singh Jhota has been handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The decision comes in direct response to the demands raised by the victim’s family, reflecting the administration’s willingness to pursue transparency and accountability.
Senior AAP leaders echoed the government’s uncompromising resolve. Party Prabhari Manish Sisodia noted that the Chief Minister remains resolute when the future of the state’s youth is at stake, while Cabinet Minister Harpal Singh Cheema highlighted that the Punjab Police had previously taken swift actions against the primary suspects prior to the formal handover.
